Shideler, Martha "Marty"
As she grew up in or near Los Angeles, Marty toured the United States in the summers with her foster aunt. This included her first trip to Grand Canyon in 1952. Marty hiked the Bright Angel Trail to the River and back in a day in 1955 and after graduating from high school, arrived in Flagstaff, AZ for College in the fall of 1958.
